PRE-RUNS Our Pre-Runs started right after we decided to do the big event! It was
a great excuse to get out and have fun EVERY WEEKEND! Our Pre-runs brought out some new
friends and we became really familiar with the creek! Allan lost the engine in his Hummer on New Years day when he drove through some water that was a little too deep! But that didn't keep him from working hard to make this event happen, the first picture here is Allan wading through the fast moving creek in sub freezing tempratures to make sure it is safe to cross. It was and here I come across the creek.
There were days when the trails through the woods were so wet they looked like rivers, sometimes these same trails are dry and very dusty! The pictures are of the everglades trail and the high trail... The Hummers are mine (green) Bob K. (white wagon) and Patrick S. (white opentop)
here is a picture of Bob K.s truck with Allan and Taylor cutting away some low hanging branches and trying to make the trail ready for our big event! Mikey in his jeep on the side of Dry Bayou, the jeeps carb would allow it to stall while trying this maneuver.
Allan and I came across a red motorcycle helmet on the beach, when we stopped we saw this kid between the dunes with his leg trapped under this 4 wheeler...The kid was OK, just shaken up a bit.
