Its difficult to find legal areas to off road in Texas.

Tx4x4 was started in 1997 to help a few of us that liked to wheel together communicate with each other about our upcoming wheeling. It was a pain to email every one, so we started a mailing list to make it easier. In the beginning there were only 10 or 12 of us. Of course we were always meeting new friends on the trail and they always wanted to be included in the next weeks wheeling so we signed our new friends up to the tx4x4 mailing list. The more fun we had the more the list grew. Not long after, we made the mailing list a FREE PUBLIC list that anyone could join. The idea at the time was to share our wheeling spots and hopefully new folks would share their wheeling spots as well. It was a huge success, in no time at all there were some big events planned and we all met a bunch of great new friends and places to wheel were becoming easier to find.

Tx4x4 was created for the sharing Texas wheeling information.

The mailing list was started in 1997 and has grown over the years to several hundred members from all over Texas and beyond.

We use the Tx4x4 Mailing list to plan upcoming runs, club meetings, swap meets, and to tell lies er.. I mean tell the great stories of the fun we had on the last run.

Of course we talk about our vehicles, but we try to keep the tech talk to a minimum, this mailing list is isn't about Jeep lockers or Hummer geared hubs, it is about FUN, and where we are gonna meet this weekend!

This TX4X4 Mailing list is completely automatic and is online 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. Our goal is to be here when you need it for planning a run or discussing ANYTHING off road related.

What is the TX4x4 Mailing List?
The TX4x4 Mailing List is a group of individuals (interested in offroading in Texas) that share the 'list'.. When mail for the 'list' is sent, it then goes automatically to everyone that is a part of that 'list'. It is sort of like an open forum for discussing anything that interests the list members. For instance a question could be asked and all of the list members could not only see (and reply) to the question but all of the answers can be seen (and replied to) also. All of the mail to the list is automatically forwarded to the all of the list members mailboxes with the letters TX4x4 in the subject line (so you won't get it confused with your regular email). It can be a great source of information and some wonderful friendships can be made. You can actively participate on a daily basis or you can just lurk quietly and absorb what others say, either way it will be a great asset for you if you share our interest in off roading in Texas!
