We get really crazy when offroad in our Hummers and even though they are tough and really AWSOME offroad vehicles it can be expensive to keep the Hummers looking nice after going through the thick underbrush and tree limbs....I have scratches and dents on my Hummer that you could drive a jeep through!

I started looking for a UNIMOG a year ago thinking that it might be easier tearing up something that is less expensive! ha ha....

Unimogs are not easy to find! there are MANY of them in Europe but very few in the USA.... I looked in 4 states before I decided on a truck.... The internet was a great help in meeting folks and learning about the UNIMOG...

Now for the pictures!

Our first UNIMOG outing!

The first day they were delivered, boy were we excited!

Patrick couldn't wait to drive his so he took off even without his 30 day temporary liscense plate! As you can see in this photo the Houston Police didn't appreciate Patricks wanting to drive his new truck! ha ha ha....
he did not get a ticket, only a warning! The cops here in Houston are great sports!

Now to make it LOOK trailworthy!

Had to build a bed since it came with a BARE chassis in the rear...I was thinking a radio box would make a great camper but I really don't wanna drive the Mog far enough to to go camping.... so offroad convertable with a wood bed on the back was decided!

The dark Military green color was just too blamed HOT in the TEXAS sun so we decided on a non reflective camo Kakhi color (TAN)...
The Military TAN look was a little too "desert storm" for me so I decided to do the FLAME thing...I once payed a real paint shop to do flames on our old VW showcar and they didnt really do that great a job... so SPRAY CANS in hand I did it myself... Can't believe it? Me either?? ha ha ha....

Built the bed CHEAP!
has fold down sides and rear and a storage compartment for tools and other goodies.
