- Northern Harris county boundary between 59 and 45.. To access creek
follow the little road next to the RR tracks north from old town
Spring. be careful of fenced off areas, any markings stay far away
from and just cruise on the trails I wouldn't suggest taking the river unless you know your way and know where the holes are |

| Nueces river in Uvalde County, TX. : Navigable State owned public access river. Open 24 hours a day, No cover charge anytime. They are filled with
small white rocks about 15 feet deep. 4WD is usually necessary after you come to a stop in the riverbed. There are several outcroppings of large rocks to climb on
through the riverbed. Several water crossings are usually necessary to travel from road to road. Coming from San Antonio , Tx. traveling west on Hwy 90 there are
several spots you can enter the Nueces. the easiest is 8 miles west of Uvalde at the double bridges. You can also travel out southwest of Uvalde at either FM 481, 10
miles out, or Hwy 83 south, 10 miles from Uvalde entering at the LaPryor bridge. Also if you are wishing to camp at a facility type place, heading north of Uvalde out
Hwy 55 about 15-20 miles there are several places to enter the River and camp for a Fee along the river at a camp. or you can enter a couple of FM roads that lead to
the river and head back into Uvalde, about a 22 mile trip back to the double bridges on Hwy 90. Count on being there all day. This River also offers fishing and
swimming in some of the deeper pools. Be sure to stay in the river bed and avoid trespassing. |

Egret Bay. Take 45 South to 518, take a Left at Egret Bay/270, there's a Texaco right there, then you'll come to a bridge, exit
left, and the mud will be on the left. Bring straps

242 (10miles North of Spring Creek)
The best
way to get to 242 with out getting a ticket is to actually go east on 242
off of 45 north. Go 2 or 3 miles and cross over the long bridge. keep
going to red light, this is 1314, turn right and go about 2 miles to
Bennet Hills Estates (Calhoun Rd). Turn
right again and follow the road till it dead ends, turn right and there is
an area on the left where people park, go through it and you are there. |

several outcroppings of large rocks to climb on through the riverbed. Typically there are few water crossings unless a big rain has happened. Coming from San Antonio , Tx. traveling west on Hwy 90. you can enter
the Frio river just west of the town of Knippa, Tx. By heading South you can travel about 12 miles and come out on FM 1023 which leads back into Uvalde. This leg
can take from 2-4 hours. figure on 4 if you are heading from 1024 to Hwy 90. Be sure to stay in the river bed and avoid trespassing. |
